Code of Conduct

(adapted from the Contributor Covenant v2.1)

Our Pledge

We as members, contributors and leaders pledge to make participation in the MonkeysLegion community a harassment-free experience for everyone, regardless of

  • age, body size, visible or invisible disability, ethnicity, sex characteristics, gender identity & expression, level of experience, education, socio-economic status, nationality, personal appearance, race, religion, or sexual identity & orientation.

We pledge to act and interact in ways that contribute to an open, welcoming, diverse, inclusive and healthy community.

Our Standards

Examples of behavior that contributes to a positive environment include:

  • Empathy & kindness in both code review and discussion.
  • Constructive feedback—prefer suggestions over finger-pointing.
  • Graceful acceptance of differing viewpoints and constructive criticism.
  • Focus on what is best for the community, not just yourself.
  • Showing gratitude—a quick “thank you” goes a long way.

Examples of unacceptable behavior include:

  • Use of sexualized language or imagery and unwelcome sexual attention.
  • Trolling, insulting or derogatory comments, personal or political attacks.
  • Public or private harassment.
  • Publishing others’ private information without explicit permission.
  • Other conduct which could reasonably be considered inappropriate in a professional setting.

Enforcement Responsibilities

Project maintainers are responsible for clarifying and enforcing these standards in all community spaces (GitHub issues/PRs, Discussion boards, Slack, social channels, live streams).

Scope

This Code of Conduct applies to all community spaces and also applies when an individual is officially representing the project in public spaces. Examples include:

  • Using an official project email address
  • Posting via an official social media account
  • Acting as a designated representative at an online or offline event

Enforcement

  1. Report

If you experience or witness unacceptable behavior, please contact the maintainer team at monkeys@monkeyscloud.com (confidential to the core committee).

  2. Review

The maintainers will investigate and respond within 48 hours. They may ask clarifying questions to either party while keeping all reports confidential.

  3. Actions

Maintainers have the right to take any necessary and appropriate actions, including but not limited to:

    • A private warning
    • Removal of unacceptable content
    • Temporary or permanent ban from community spaces
    • Reversal of project privileges (e.g., write access)

All decisions will be communicated to the affected individual with an explanation.
